Ahhh yes, we’re creatives at heart and truly appreciate the work of other creatives and their craft, sometimes time and budget get in the way of these things. There are so many great tools out there and some of them are free! Simplify your content with these tools and resources, we use them on a regular basis for content creation.  We get it, we wear many hats too and understand your frustration!  If you’re an entrepreneur, wear many hats, a content creator, brand storyteller, or just like making cool stuff check out these tools.

Design

  1. Canva - This one ranks at the top of the top! Canva makes creating content so easy and can elevate your brand in no time. Canva even sizes for the platform and type of content you are creating. Canva Pro gives you access to so much for only $11 a month. Canva is definitely giving graphic designers a run for their money, but there is ALWAYS a need for professional designers.

💡Pro Tip - There are so many templates, pick 5 and stick with them, this includes a font family that aesthetically makes the most sense for your brand.

2. Wordswag - Wordswag is similar to Canva just not as robust.  Wordswag is great when you’re on the go and only have access via the mini computer in your hand.  It’s the ”I need it now!” The mobile app is a bit easier to use than Canva’s app.

Photo + Video Editing

3. Animoto - The time is now to tell your story with video. Animoto is user-friendly, compatible with Mac and PC, and makes creating video easy. You can produce short pieces of content, by blending photos, video clips, text, and music.  Bonus, Animoto has a library of music to choose from!

💡 Pro Tip - Decide where your video is going before you select a layout and music.

4. Snapseed - It’s free and user-friendly, well that is, once you get the hang of it. Snapseed can enhance the overall quality of your photos! Have brighter and smoother photos at your fingertips, there are tons more presets too!

Photos + Video for Social Media Posts

5. Story Blocks - Formerly known as VideoBlocks is a subscription-based content stock library, where you can access, HD Footage, 4K Footage, After Effects Templates, Music & Sound Effects, Photos, Vectors, & Illustrations - does this sound too techy for you? It doesn’t have to be. Subscriptions range from $20 - $30 a month.

6.  Istock and Pixabay - We know, our sister company is Mac & V and does all things photography, and does it well. So…we present to you Istock and Pixabay, with some parameters.  Use stock photos sparingly, integrate stock photos into a Canva design with text and shapes, this can help disguise a stock photo. Ask yourself would I think this is a stock photo if I saw this on my competitor’s feed?

💡 Pro Tip - Stock photos can easily be intertwined into Facebook advertising campaigns!

7. Emojipedia - Add Emojipedia to your toolbar.  It makes searching and grabbing emojis quick.

8. Hootsuite - It’s ALL the content and resources.  You could spend hours consuming free content offered by Hootsuite, this should be reason enough to sign up. All of your social accounts are in ONE place, yes one place! Monitor and create with ease and efficiency.

9.  Planoly  - Do you want to up your Instagram or Pinterest game? Planoly would be a great fit. Planoly offers a free version, you can still use Hootsuite to manage the content, but Planoly offers a great visual to your grid. Not ready to dive into Hootsuite and want to manage on each platform?
